Protect yourself from fraudsters posing as WRCU

Hey, members! We’re seeing an uptick in fraud attempts targeting our members, and we need to spread the word. Scammers are impersonating White River Credit Union by saying they’re calling from the “WRCU Fraud Department,” using fake caller IDs that make it look like we’re the ones calling.

These fraudsters are asking for sensitive details like:

  • Your secure word
  • Your date of birth
  • Your card number (all or part)
  • Your transaction or account history

Red flag alert: WRCU will NEVER ask for this information when we’re calling you! If someone claims to be from WRCU and requests any of these details, hang up immediately and call us at (360) 825-4833.

Unfortunately, we’ve already seen cases of large fraudulent transactions hitting members’ accounts. Your security is our top priority; together, we can stop these scams in their tracks. To prevent future fraud, visit our member security page for up-to-date security information.

What to do if you get a suspicious call:

  • Do not share personal or financial details.
  • Hang up and call WRCU directly.
  • Monitor your account for any unauthorized transactions.
  • Report any fraud attempts to us right away.

We’re here for you—always. Stay safe, stay informed, and let’s look out for each other.
