Meet the 2026 Board of Directors candidates

Three members will be elected to the Board of Directors for a 3-year term

Our Board of Directors are volunteer members (AKA your neighbors) who help shape the vision, policies, and long-term health of WRCU. They’re the master gardeners here at the CU.

Peter Kirchner

Nominee | Member since November 2014

How do you help our credit union bloom?
I’m a retired international business executive for a Fortune 500 Company and presently the owner and operator of a 20-acre homestead. I’ve also been an active Board member since 2016.

What is your favorite plant or flower?
Sarcacoca, because it is evergreen and blooms midwinter to expel a heavenly scent for almost a whole month, from January through February.

Being a member of WRCU matters to me because:
It is local, small, and personable. One can have an in-person interaction. They still have drive-up banking and management and staff are extremely competent and pleasant to deal with.

Dave Magstadt

Nominee | Member since 1984

How do you help our credit union bloom?
I am always sharing the WRCU experience versus large box banks to acquaintances. I have been a part of the community my entire life. I recently sold and retired from a local company that I have been a part of for 52 years. Managing and owning for 15 years has brought a lot of business knowledge and experience. I believe this shows my devotion and loyalty to an organization. I was a previous board member for 7 years.

What is your favorite plant or flower?
Too many favorites to list come from my landscape background but if I must pick, I will say the Virginia Richard Rhododendron as it has an ever-changing bloom from start to finish.

Being a member of WRCU matters to me because:
Having the connection of WRCU means you and your money are managed by a smaller local group of people that are a part of the community.

Dennis Devlin, DC

Nominee | Member since 1994

How do you help our credit union bloom?
The experience of being an independent business owner for the past 40 years and having served on the WRCU Board of Directors for 4 plus years contribute to my being an effective board member.

What is your favorite plant or flower?
A rose.

Being a member of WRCU matters to me because:
Being a member of the WRCU matters to me because our credit union is dedicated, at every level, to serving our members, and it is truly a privilege to participate in that service.

Meet the 2026 Supervisory Committee candidates

One member will be elected to the Supervisory Committee for a 3-year term.

Our Supervisory Committee ensures the safety, soundness, and integrity of WRCU’s operations. They’re basically tending the soil of our CU and making sure everything stays healthy beneath the surface.

Alyse Leonard

Nominee | Member since 2012

How do you help our credit union bloom?
I have over 13 years of professional experience in a financial environment. I believe that credit unions are a financial resource that everyone should have access to and I’m excited for the opportunity to volunteer.

What is your favorite plant or flower?
Artichoke – A perennial edible. Bees love them too.

Being a member of WRCU matters to me because:
WRCU is local and they’re real people.
